In response to ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, we regretfully decided to cancel the Oklahoma Concrete Pavement Conference for 2020. Early on we were hopeful that it could be rescheduled for this fall, however, even as businesses try to re-establish somewhat normal operations, we feel group gatherings of 350-400 people are not a prudent activity in these times. For those of you who have already paid for sponsorships, exhibit space or registration, we will begin the process of refunding your payments this week. We fully anticipate being able to host a Spring conference in 2021 and hope to see everyone there!

Additionally, we are entertaining the idea of a concrete pavement award banquet for our award winners later in the year if we can work out the details of how to safely organize it where all CDC social distancing recommendations can be adhered to. We will keep our award winners updated as this develops.

This week’s concrete overlay webinar, sponsored by OK/AR Chapter along with ACPA National and the Concrete Pavement Tech Center, was an overwhelming success with nearly 800 participants.

During this one-hour program, Eric Ferrebee from ACPA National described the design tools and methodologies used in developing overlay projects and Angela Folkestad of CO/WY ACPA shared those states’ concrete overlay experiences.

We are glad to be partnering with CP Tech Center and are offering Professional Development Hours (PDH’s) for all those who participate on the live session.  You can attend any or all of these sessions, if you missed one, you can still register for the next.

Amid growing concerns over the COVID-19 situation we have regrettably decided to postpone the 2020 Oklahoma Concrete Pavement Conference scheduled for March 23^rd & 24^th. This decision was not made lightly, but because of both the Governor’s and the Oklahoma City Mayor’s declarations of emergency made over the weekend, we felt it in the best interest of the public to do our part in helping to prevent the spread of this virus.

We are working with the hotel to determine a new date for the conference and will let you know as soon as a date is secured. Anyone already registered for the conference will remain registered for the new date. If you are unable to attend on the new date or we are unsuccessful in securing a new date for this event, then your registration fees will be refunded to you in full.
