Last night, the Senate approved the previously passed Continuing Resolution (CR) effectively extending the highway program for one year. It was signed into law by the President early this morning.
The continuing resolution authorizes the transfer of $10.4 billion to the Highway Trust Fund (HTF) from the general fund for highways and another $3.2 billion for transit to keep the HTF solvent. While this action keeps highway projects funded at current levels for the next year, it is still woefully inadequate to keep pace with needs. ACPA will continue to engage Congress and encourage them to make transportation funding a priority.
