Arkansas Concrete Pavement Conference

Despite the heat, industry professionals from across Arkansas and beyond came together at the Hot Springs Embassy Suites conference center to learn how long life concrete pavements can be a benefit to any transportation system. Arkansas DOT Director Jared Wiley kicked things off with opening comments and review of the many initiatives ArDOT has been pursuing. Two Arkansas concrete paving projects were also in the spotlight and honored as Gold Award Winners for Excellence during the conference. Oklahoma Concrete at the Capitol

The Oklahoma Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association in partnership with the Oklahoma Ready Mixed Concrete Association recently hosted ‘Concrete at the Capitol’ day at the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Four hundred frozen ‘Concrete’ custards were served to Oklahoma legislators, staff and association members.

Tuesday, March 18 – The Arkansas Concrete Pavement Association hosted Concrete at the Capital at the Arkansas State Capital in Little Rock. We were joined by Weaver-Bailey Contractors, Gomaco, and Ash Grove Cement as we passed out over 300 servings of concrete ice cream to legislators and executive branch staff members. It is also reported that Governor Sanders enjoyed her afternoon concrete. Members visited with State Representatives and Senators, and watched the Senate in action for a few minutes.
